Night vision and wide dynamic range (WDR) are other two important features of a camera to look before selecting. Nowadays most of the cameras come with night vision as CCTV required for 24hrs operation. WDR feature comes with few cameras as it is a costlier one and many times not required also.

Digital Video Recorder (DVR) converts the input signal coming from the camera and stores in HDDs. DVR is like a signal processor and handles all input and output devices. DVR supports 4, 8, 16, and 32 channel inputs nowadays even DVRs coming with 128 channels. DVR can support 1 to 6 TB HDDs and for more capacity even supports more than 1 HDD.

Storage Drive

As CCTV cameras operate 24 hours choose surveillance hard disk. Surveillance hard disk can store 24 hours without breaking. So always choose surveillance HDD for CCTV system. These hard drives comes with 1 TB, 2TB, 3TB, 4 TB, 6 TB, 8 TB and 10 TB capacity. Before selecting hard drive make sure DVR supports the hdd capacity you have selected and also backup days needed.
